At the moment, we are at the stage to process the formal tenancy agreement. And I should let you know the rest of the exact amount that need to prepare (If any).

Utilities:

For the utility water, electricity and towngas accounts (If necessary) update for under the tenants (if necessary), it will processed after the formal tenancy agreement signed / after you got the keys, and it takes 1-2 working days to process for us and the utility companies to update after you got the keys.

The utility companies will mail you the first bill later including a certain amount of deposit (Deposit amount based on the size of the apartment) + Usage, please refer to the back of the bill to settle the bill, normally the bill could be settled in the convenient stores by cash or e-banking by bank account or credit card.

Understand where is the main electrical switch box, water switch and towngas switch for emergency situation

Please try to look for or ask landlord where is the main electrical switch box, water switch and towngas switch, if there was emergency, need to turn some of them off immediately to protect yourself in the apartment

The main electrical switch box looks like this:

Normally located in kitchen or near the main entrance

Just switch the main switch off in case of any emergency:

Water switch normally looks like this:

Sometimes it situates outside the apartment (in the corridor), sometimes it’s in the kitchen or bathroom, in the cabinet. May need to switch it off immediately when there is any unexpected situation like water tap broken etc

Towngas switch is with the meter normally, normally in the kitchen.

For any emergency and urgent situation, just call 999, or seek quick help from the management desk, or landlord (if tenants)

CLP (Kowloon and NT electricity co.) Emergency Hotline: 27288333 (24 Hrs)

Towngas: 28806988 (24 Hrs)

Internet:

For the internet, there are several internet companies like HKBN, PCCW, I-Cable, Three, please feel free to ask me any recommendations or internet sales person referral.

Regular Cleaning:

Can refer cleaning maid to do regular cleaning for the apartment, fee for the maid is around HKD 100 per hour. Can arrange for simple 1 hour cleaning per week or 2 hours a deeper cleaning.

Home Insurance:

You may consider to buy home insurance to protect the potential risks such as from the unexpected weather conditions etc.
